Elk Creek Genetics ("we," "us," "our") operates elkcreekgenetics.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who this site is for
This website is intended only for adults 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us through our Contact page and we will delete it.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you join the community list, we collect your email address and a record that you confirmed you are 21 or older. If you use the Contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose, and your message.
- Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider and security tools may log your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent spam and abuse.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small cookie or local storage entry to remember your answer to our age check so we do not ask on every page. Our spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set technical cookies. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first.
How we use information
- To send you news about new releases and where our products are available, if you joined the community list.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website, and to prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including age-restricted-content requirements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share information with
We use service providers to run the website: Cloudflare (hosting, security, and database storage) and Resend (email delivery and our community mailing list). They may process your information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others. Links to other websites, including Higher Origins, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
Email communications
Every email we send to the community list includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you at any time through our Contact page.
How long we keep information
We keep community list entries until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. Server logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and use, to request access to or deletion of your personal information, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, use our Contact page and select "Other." We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and restricted access to stored contact data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last changed.
